COMMITMENT TO IMPACT

Uulala, Humanity 2.0 and The Laudato Si’ Challenge  have partnered to build a new model of borderless financial security and access. The objective is to positively and sustainably impact the lives of 10 million migrants and refugees by 2020.

"The fight against poverty is not merely a technical economic problem, but above all a moral one, calling for global solidarity and the development of more equitable approaches to the concrete needs and aspirations of individuals and peoples worldwide. Let us raise our voices together, asking that [we] may have the courage to reject an economy of exclusion and know how to open new paths.”

--His Holiness Pope Francis

Uulala is a mission-driven organization to facilitate and accelerate the financial inclusion of the underbanked and unbanked population across the Americas. Uulala empowers the underbanked communities of the world through the Uulala blockchain based platform by providing financial tools for them to build credit, send money, participate in ecommerce and elevate out of a cash-only environment. Uulala will drive change and betterment of Latin culture through the massive social impact their banking platform and mobile app can have on a culture that lacks trust in traditional banking systems. The Uulala platform not only provides ways for individuals to participate in secure financial transactions, build credit and offer remittance services but also gain access to entertainment and shopping services that were once out of reach because of their banking status.

Humanity 2.0

Humanity 2.0 is a human progress accelerator that identifies impediments to human progress and works across sectors to remove them by sourcing and scaling bold and innovative solutions. Our vision is defined by five beliefs:

  1. We are one species, with a collective responsibility for shaping our future.
  2. Challenges to humanity must be met by focused and coordinated action.
  3. No human being has more, or less, intrinsic value than any other.
  4. Every human being should have the opportunity to realize their full potential.
  5. Common resources should be used to further the common good before private interests.

"Taking up the challenges of Laudato Si’, The Laudato Si’ Challenge seeks to sustainably improve the lives of 10 million people excluded from Our Common Home by 2020—anticipating the SDG2030 objective of leaving no one behind—through businesses that are: innovative, sustainable, empowering and ethical.

We work towards this goal through

  1. “Commitments to Impact,”
  2. scaling 10 selected social enterprises and
  3. the co-creation and collaboration with dioceses in cities being uniquely challenged by this issue.

The campaign will launch on August 1, with the goal of adding hundreds of thousands of new users on the platform by December 4, when Uulala will announce its “Commitment to Impact” at the Laudato Si’ Challenge event at the Vatican, to garner additional support from private, public and faith-based leaders to reach its goal of including millions of unbanked migrants and refugees into the global economy.

This partnership may change the future of banking and financial services for a borderless solution rooted in blockchain for economic inclusion for all.
